I’ve led a pretty interesting life that’s shaped me into the producer I have become, from growing up on the campaign trail in the dirty south with my father to raising my family in Panama. I have met all types of people, learned to read them and organize them around common goals. My father was also an entrepreneur, teaching me the ins and outs of his businesses. The most important thing he taught me was doing homework on others, especially the people you’re working with; it’s important to know how a group might work together to avoid potential setbacks.

For the last 15 years, I’ve been working with film crews from all over the world, pulling off projects that sounded impossible. All it takes is a good producer who knows their team and sees a way to get it done. From securing locations, winning the agencies’ and clients’ trust, to keep everything running like a well-oiled machine—most would crack under the pressure. I’ve seen plenty of people try unsuccessfully to do my job; they didn’t get along with the crew, they throw blame around, or they just can’t reign in expectations and end up running over budget. It takes a certain type of person to be able to communicate effectively with all the players on a project to get the desired results.

As a creative person myself, I can see the bigger picture. It’s critical to know what’s needed to make an idea into something tangible. From quick and accurate estimates and bids, to knowing what it takes to own a downtown street for the day. Thanks to my experience I can take a three-person crew to Jordan or handle a union crew here in LA. I’ve always been able to make things run smoothly while having fun and enjoying the experience, hence, the reason clients, agencies, and directors I work with keep coming back.

So, what are we working on next?
